Dr. Frank Crawford, Jr. was born in Memphis, Tenn. and attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville where he earned his undergraduate degree in wildlife and fisheries science. After college, he served as a missionary journeyman to Brazil for two years. It was during this time that he met his wife, Janet Haylock (now Janet Crawford). Janet served as a missionary journeyman to Mexico from 1979-1981.
Frank earned his Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1984. He then pastored Millfield Baptist Church in Ivor, Va. from 1985 to 1991. From 1991 to 1995, he pastored Liberty Baptist Church in Appomattox, Va. Frank obtained his Doctor of Ministry from Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond, Va in 2001. His longest tenure serving as a senior pastor was with Calvary Baptist Church in Kingsport, Tenn. from 1995 to 2008. He also serve with FBC Somerville immediately prior to his current position with Sweetwater First Baptist Church, which began in 2010.
Fishing is at the top of the list for hobbies for Frank, along with jogging, camping, backpacking, and reading. He has served on numerous boards and committees as a part of the Tennessee Baptist Convention. His international mission trips have included Mexico, Costa Rica, and five trips to Brazil along with many other state-side mission trips.
Lisa Brackett has been a member of First Baptist Church for 18 years, and is active in many church activities. Lisa has been on staff since 2002. She is married to Scott and has two sons, Will and Ben.
Samantha Cantrell has been a member of First Baptist Church for 18 years. She volunteered in the office for 10 years before taking the Administrative Assistant position in 2007. She has been involved many ministries of the church, including GA leader, FAITH Evangelistic Training, Vacation Bible School, Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Collection and working at the Processing Center in Atlanta.
She is married to Brian Cantrell and has two daughters, Kayla and Sarah, and one grandson, Noah.
Jennifer Hicks was voted on to be our Outreach Director in May 2017. Our Outreach Ministry consists of Visitation Teams, Contact Teams, and Prayer Teams. Phil Roy is the Missions Director at Sweetwater First Baptist Church. He is responsible for local missions, national missions, and foreign missions.
Phil has been involved in Mission Education through the Royal Ambassador program since 1984 and World Changers since 1996. During this time he has seen and felt the call to share missions every chance he can.
