Golden State Offering for Tennessee Missions

PrintThe Golden Offering for Tennessee Missions is an annual offering that supports missions and ministries of the Tennessee Baptist Convention. Named in honor of Dr. and Mrs. W.C. Golden who initiated the offering in 1902. Season of Prayer for Golden State is Sept. 3-10, 2017.

Annual Annie Armstrong Easter Offering

PrintThe Annie Armstrong Easter Offering® is much more than an offering envelope and an annual missions-giving emphasis. When people give to the offering, 100 percent of their gift will be transformed into missionary salaries and ministry supplies. Those missionaries and supplies will help others hear the message of Christ and respond in faith to His offer of salvation.

Time and again our missionaries relate how the offering is their lifeblood. They know that behind each penny given, there is a Southern Baptist who believes in what they do and are affirming the need to equip them to share the gospel with those who need a Savior.

Tennessee Baptist Children’s Homes

Mother's Day OfferingThe mission of the Tennessee Baptist Children’s Homes is to minister the love of Jesus Christ to children and families in crisis. Each year, these homes help children and families in crisis—regardless of faith background—through TBCH residential care, counseling, and other programs.

We take up a special offering on Mother’s Day each year to give to the Children’s Home.

World Changers (Youth)

First Baptist Sweetwater will be participating a World Changers event in Cincinnati, Ohio  (July 15-21, 2017).

Lottie Moon Christmas Offering

PrintThe Lottie Moon Christmas Offering is an annual offering that supports missions and ministries of the International Mission Board. Named in honor of Lottie Moon, missionary to China. Each year we set a goal for this offering. Our Mission Friends all the way through to our Senior Adults do a Mission Study to become more aware of needs around the world.

A big event to raise money is our International Dinner, where different groups or Sunday School classes “adopt” a country and cook food from their country. You can taste a sampling of 15-20 meals from different countries.

We also have our Lottie Moon Post Office, where for a donation the RA’s will distribute Christmas cards to church members instead of using the Post Office to mail.
